What is Unshaven Hair Transplant?
An unshaven hair transplant is a discreet hair restoration technique that allows patients to undergo a transplant procedure without shaving their entire head. Instead of completely removing existing hair, only small donor zones are trimmed where follicular units will be extracted. This makes the surgery virtually undetectable during the healing process and is particularly appealing to professionals and individuals who prefer to keep their appearance unchanged during recovery.

What are the Female Hair Transplant Methods? DHI – Fue Sapphire
Sapphire FUE and DHI hair transplantation techniques are known as the most preferred hair transplantation techniques today. Sapphire and DHI hair transplantation techniques differ in terms of application processes.
Sapphire FUE Hair Transplant Technique
First, grafts are collected from the donor area. Channels are opened with a sapphire blade in the areas determined as the recipient area and hair follicles are transplanted one by one into the opened channels. The feature that distinguishes the DHI process from the Sapphire Fue hair transplant method is that in a DHI hair transplant, hair follicles are simultaneously transferred to the recipient area with a special pen called CHOI. In the Sapphire Fue hair transplant method, hair follicles wait for a while after being taken from the donor area. This is one of the main differences between them.
While the hair is shaved in the Sapphire Fue transplantation technique, the DHI hair transplantation technique does not involve shaving in women. The fact that the shaving process is not performed is a preferred option for female patients. At the same time, the DHI hair transplantation technique is applied to thinned areas and a denser appearance is achieved. In the Sapphire transplantation process, hair is transplanted to larger areas, and the Sapphire hair transplant operation is applied to bald areas. In both techniques, a natural appearance is obtained after the hair operation. With advanced technology, it keeps scarring and tissue deterioration at a minimum level.
DHI Hair Transplant Technique
In DHI hair transplantation, unlike the Sapphire transplantation technique, there is no shaving process. The fact that there is no shaving process has made it popular with female patients. Only the area determined as the donor area is shaved and the shaved area is covered with other hair. At the same time, local anesthesia is applied to female patients so that they do not feel any pain or ache during the operation. Hair follicles taken from the donor area are transferred to the recipient area where the transplantation will be performed with a special pen, the CHOI pen. Thanks to the CHOI pen, the channel opening and grafting process are performed simultaneously.
In women, grafts are taken from the donor area depending on the intensity of hair loss. DHI hair transplantation in women takes between 6 and 8 hours on average. DHI hair transplantation technique is frequently preferred by women. Women who do not want to shave their hair prefer the DHI Hair transplantation technique.

How Does It Work Without Shaving the Head?
In this procedure, the donor area is selectively trimmed in micro-strips or small patches hidden beneath longer surrounding hair. Using a Choi implanter pen (in DHI procedures) or micro punches (in FUE), follicles are harvested and implanted into the recipient area — which can also remain unshaven depending on the case. This method requires more time and surgical precision, but it offers a fully discreet result.

Am I a Candidate? Evaluation for Women
Not every woman with hair loss needs surgery, but many are excellent candidates. During your assessment, our specialists examine your scalp health, measure hair density, and map a safe donor area – typically the back and sides where follicles are most resistant. We also review your pattern of loss, medications, hormones, and lifestyle.
For women experiencing hair loss due to female pattern baldness, transplants can work very well because the existing hair around the thinning hair zones can help conceal early growth and optimize coverage.
Women with stable patterns and adequate donor hair usually achieve the most natural results. If you’re unsure where you stand, schedule a consultation; we’ll run a detailed trichoscopic analysis and create a plan that respects your goals and budget.
A thoughtful plan considers future changes, protects existing hair, and sets realistic expectations for density, number of grafts, and sessions. Your candidacy is always individualized—never one-size-fits-all.
How is the Donor Area Shaved
Only a narrow strip (1-2 cm wide) is shaved and your long hair above completely covers this area. No one notices after the operation. We can show you the process with video if you wish.
Is female hairline desing different from men ?
Absolutely. Female hairline is softer, rounder and frames the face. There are no sharp corners. Temple area is also included in the design.
Is the operation painful ?
We provide pain-free operation with sedation. Sedation is applied before local anesthesia.
How many grafts can be transplanted
Depending on your donor capacity, 2000-4000 grafts can be transplanted in a single session. Women usually need fewer grafts.
Can I dye my hair ?
You can dye your hair 4 weeks after the operation.
When can I return ?
We recommend staying 2-3 nights in Istanbul. Post-operation check and first wash training are important.
How long is the recover time?
You can return to social life within 5-7 days. Redness stays minimal and your hair covers it.
